With over three decades of distinguished service, Mike McMains stands as a unique member of our legal team, with a focus on health and business law. A Purdue College of Pharmacy graduate, he continues to hold an active pharmacy license in Indiana. Mike’s legal journey began following a fruitful tenure at Eli Lilly & Co., where he developed skills across sales, marketing, market research, strategic planning, and regulatory affairs. Transitioning to law, he graduated cum laude from the Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis, where he was student body president and the commencement speaker at his graduation. Mike initiated his law practice in health, business, and estate planning law post-law school.
Mike’s career journey includes a significant period at Hall Render, a leading healthcare law firm, before venturing to establish his practice. His legal commitment deepened as he served as State Director and Senior Counsel for U.S. Senator Dan Coats, leading to his current engagement in law as a key member of Tuohy Bailey & Moore.
Demonstrating a profound commitment to education and mentorship, Mike has taught as an Adjunct Professor at the Indiana University Law School – Indianapolis and at the Colleges of Pharmacy for both Purdue and Butler. His professional and academic achievements were acknowledged with the Distinguished Alumnus award from Purdue University.
Mike’s legal prowess is enhanced by his leadership and community service, notably his four-year chairmanship of the Indiana Gaming Commission and contributions to various corporate boards and civic organizations. His legal practice is enriched by memberships in the Indiana and United States Supreme Court bars and participation in esteemed programs like the FBI Citizens Academy and the U.S. Army War College civilian program.
